NYX Butter Lipstick First Impression + Swatches

Hey Guys!

Today I'm here to show you some more swatches of my lip haul I posted a little while back. I've already shown swatches of the new Rimmel chubby sticks I picked up, so if you'd like to see those, click >here<.

Butter Lipsticks. When you hear that statement, what do you think of? I, personally, think of something that's ultra moisturizing and creamy. I'm happy to say that NYX hit the nail on the head with the formula of these. They are very opaque and it only takes a few swipes to cover your entire lips. I have some of the darker shades, but I've read that some of the lighter shades are streaky and takes a bit to build up to the actual color that's shown in the tube. The darker shades that I purchased do not have that problem, fortunately.

The four shades I picked up:

Mary Janes | Razzle | Hunk | Hot Tamale

Mary Janes | Razzle | Hunk | Hot Tamale

Mary Janes is a beautiful deep brick red. I think it'd be perfect for those that are afraid of rep lipstick because you can easily sheer it out and it becomes a nice stain.

Razzle is a bright blue based pink. It's probably my favorite color out of the four I picked up and if you've followed my blog for any amount of time, you shouldn't be surprised! This will get a lot of wear out me in the upcoming months.

Hunk is such an interesting color, it's described as a blue violet. I love the duo chrome look that this has on my lips.

Hot Tamale is a red-orange. It's my least favorite of the bunch, only because my lips and orange colored anything don't really mesh well. I do love this color though.

OVERALL:
I like these lipsticks. I do advise you to exfoliate your lips because, even though they're creamy, they will show any kind of dry patches you have! I haven't worn these for a long period of time yet, so I can't talk about how long they last on the lips. You can purchase these from Ulta, Nyxcosmetics.com, or anywhere else NYX is sold!

Rimmel London Colour Rush Lip Balm First Impression + Swatches

Hey Guys!

Let me start off by saying that I LOVE that everyone is coming out with chubby sticks for the lips! I never tried the Clinique ones [the originators, I think], but I have tried some from Tarte, Revlon, Wet N Wild, Sephora, and now Rimmel! Some would call my love an obsession, I'd just call it being passionate!

Top: Viva Violet | Bottom: I Want Candy!

The chubby sticks are the same size as any of the others you're used to and they are retractable as well. I didn't detect a scent with these unlike the others that have a minty fragrance.

The formula is very moisturizing and the colors I have do stain your lips! This is a plus for me, I'm for anything that's going to give me lasting lip color. You can pick these up at your local drugstores and anywhere Rimmel London products are sold! I picked them up at Walmart for around $5-7 [I lost my receipt. Oops!]

I definitely plan on getting more of these!! Have you seen these in your stores??

Coastal Scents Forever Blush Haul + Swatches! [WOC]

Hey Guys!!

A little while ago Coastal Scents had a sale on their Forever Blushes and since I'd heard so many great things about them, I decided to pick up some! I have 8 of the 16 in the line and the finishes range from matte to shimmer and satin. I picked up five matte and one satin because I don't like shimmer on my huge crater pores face.

How Coastal Scents describes their Forever Blushes:

"The perfectly pigmented powder blush for a long-lasting rush of color. Complete with a mirror, the color-packed compact will go a long way."

From first swatch I can definitely agree that these blushes are incredibly pigmented! They aren't chalky and glide on the skin beautifully. These retail for $7.95USD and can be purchased on their site

 Packaging:

They are in a matte, black, round container with a clear cut out on the front showcasing the blush inside. On the back, they have the blush name and ingredients. I think they look really great.

The blushes themselves have an Aztec type imprint on them, very pretty!

 Color Descriptions [My Thoughts]:
  • Charming [Matte]- Cool toned light pink.
  • Elegant [Satin]- Yellow toned light pink with subtle glitter.
  •  Exquisite [Matte]- Raspberry with a red undertone. (One of my faves!)
  • Alluring [Matte]- True hot pink.
  • Radiant [Matte]- Red orange.
  • Graceful [Matte]- Midtone pink with a blue undertone. (Like Alluring, slightly lighter.)

It's so hard to choose a favorite out of the bunch!! I think Exquisite, Alluring, & Radiant will get the most use out of me in the warmer months. I think Elegant will be a great "everyday" color blush. Not gonna lie, I'm obsessed with them all!!

If you picked up any of these, which ones and how do you like them? Thanks for reading!!

Saving Face Brush Cleanser Review + Giveaway!

Hey Guys!

I don't know about you, but I hateeeee washing my brushes. I have...too many to count (seriously, it's embarrassing) and it's extremely time consuming. Someone should start a business where you can take your brushes to be cleaned, sorta like a brush dry cleaner. Oh wait!! Someone already has. :)

Meet Nichole, the beautiful face behind Saving Face, the only makeup brush cleaning service.

"Nichole decided to make this vanity, yet necessary, service convenient and affordable to have your brushes cleaned in the same way you drop your clothes off at the dry cleaners. With options for next day turnaround or while you wait service, your brushes are returned to you, washed, sterilized and perfectly packaged.

The luxury of Saving Face allows the makeup artist the freedom to enjoy life and not be tethered to a brush and sink.  Saving Face cleans your brushes before and or after your next big event. The company opens its doors to booking of major events to be Saving Face approved or even personal every day use."

I personally think this is a great thing!! Especially if you loathe standing over the sink and getting raisin fingers like I do! Saving Face also lets you mail in your brushes if you're not in the NYC area, just visit their website to find out how.

Nichole was sweet enough to send me a bottle of her brush cleanser to try out and she also sent a bottle for one of you!

The soap is an eco-conscious soap containing no parabans, dyes, talc, sodium or scents. It only takes about a dime to nickel (depending on the size of your brush) sized amount to get your brushes squeaky clean! I usually wash brushes twice, but this cleanser got them clean with just one wash! I was very impressed.

One thing I love about this cleanser is how it lathers:

Look at that!

I could ramble on and on about how great this cleanser is, but I think the pictures will convince you more!!

Real Techniques Buffing Brush [One Wash]

Real Techniques Powder Brush [One Wash]

Now this next brush was the ultimate test. This dense brush is what I use for my foundation and the liquid gets all the way down in between the bristles, making it super hard to clean. This cleanser had no problem with it though! It even still lathered although it was dirty!

Sedona Lace Round Top Powder Brush [One Wash]

My bristles didn't feel weighed down or stiff after they dried and they were like new. Now it's time for you to experience this greatness :)

Enter through the rafflecopter and good luck!! There will be one grand prize winner and 3 runner ups.
